MAKI
A place for animation.
We are designing an environment that allows filmmaking to continue, through ongoing experimentation.
This is neither a school nor a company.
Commitments
Three commitments we hold.
No obligation to finish
Finished works and works stopped midway are both treated as part of the process.
Keep the freedom to stop
Both continuing and leaving are valid. If it doesn’t fit, it ends there.
Rights stay with the maker
Copyright belongs to the creator. Maki does not enclose it.
For those who want to focus on making, we can offer support to help secure time.
Details can be discussed based on your situation.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions and answers.
Is there a selection process to join?
There is no selection based on the quality of your work. We simply see together whether the environment fits you and feels sustainable.
Is it okay to stop midway?
Yes. Stopping midway or stepping away is part of what we assume from the start.
Who owns the rights to the work?
All copyrights remain with the creator. Maki does not take ownership of rights.
What should I do first?
Start with Contact. You don’t need to assume participation when reaching out.
